Isostrate 2000 is available in a variety of Kapton ™ MT substrates ranging from 1mil to 5 mils thick. Isostrate pads provide maximum heat transfer capability and electrical isolation for a variety of heat dissipating components.

Isostrate 2000 is a dry on assembly, yet provides excellent wetting action after phase-change is achieved for the first time. With it’s drop in place, no mess design, Isostrate 2000 solves a variety of manufacturing installation problems typically found when using other types of thermal interface materials.

Isostrate 2000 is a pre-formed polyamide based thermal system coated with a proprietary thermal compound necessary to maximize heat transfer while still offering high dielectric strength and high cut-through resistance. The low-installed cost of Isostrate 2000 makes it an excellent replacement for applications where inefficient and messy greases or mica’s are used.

Isostrate 2000’s wetting action at phase-change temperature eliminates voids due to mounting surface irregularities. Volumetric expansion at phase-change enhances wetting action to further assist in the elimination of voids and gaps. The extended wetting action of the proprietary thermal compound allows for superior long-term thermal cycling capability.

Isostrate 2000 is available in clean sizable packs or in continuous roll formats for high volume dispensing. As found in all Loctite’s phase-change thermal interface products, Isostrate 2000 is built pre-formed to your application requirements

Solution #2: MCM-Strate™ ~ Isostrate 2000 with Mounting Technology

A Thin Adhesive Isostrate Solution (Fully Backed Adhesive)

MCM-Strate consists of a Kapton MT substrate coated one-side with Loctite’s proprietary high-performance thermal compound all packaged in an easy-to-use pre-formed format.

MCM-Strate is available in a wide variety of substrate thicknesses ranging from 1mil to 5 mils.

MCM-Strate is designed for optimal thermal performance at low-mounting pressures typical of multi-chip modules and other heat dissipating applications.

The design of the adhesive backed system allows the user the advantage of mounting MCM-Strate on a vertically positioned application where clips holding a heat sink are used. This combination makes MCM-Strate an effective thermal solution where a self-mounting approach is required.

MCM-Strate’s unique one-sided coating and exposed repositionable adhesive on the other side creates a durable product with synergistic performance optimizing electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties.

Solution #3: Isostrate ~ J-Series™ Low-Cost Dielectric Performance

Isostrate J-Series was developed by Loctite, a Henkel Corporation, as a low-cost alternative for applications where reliable thermal performance is still required

Isostrate J-Series utilizes the same phase-change technology found in Isostrate 2000 products, however, uses a Mylar substrate available in a range of thicknesses from 1 mil to 5 mils. The reliable performance of Isostrate J-Series is consolidated in one pre-formed system allowing the user the advantages of the compound wetting found in Isostrate 2000 but replaced with a low-cost Mylar substrate.

The J-Series is optimal for applications that require cost-savings and reliable thermal performance at low-mounting pressures. Isostrate J-Series does not outperform the overall performance of Isostrate 2000 products, however, provides an engineer with an inexpensive thermal solution where quality and performance are still a required concern.

Isostrate J-Series is available with the same re-positionable adhesive backed system found in MCM-Strate products. This is used best when an application is vertically mounted and quick dispensing of a thermal interface material is necessary.
