Locitte Econostrate is an electrically isolating phase change thermal interface material suitable for use between a heat sink and a variety of heat dissipating components. Econostrate is a low cost pre-formed thermal interface pad supplied as a dry compound coated onto a polyimide substrate. The compound flows at the phase change temperature and conforms to the surface features of the heat sink and component. Upon flow, air is expelled from the interface, reducing thermal impedance as the material performs as a highly efficient thermal transfer material. Loctite Econostrate offers high dielectric strength and excellent cut-through resisitance.

Loctite Econostrate is a dry on assembly, yet provides excellent wetting action after phase-change is achieved for the first time. With it’s drop in place, no mess design, Loctite Econostrate solves a variety of manufacturing installation problems typically found when using other types of thermal interface materials.

Loctite Econostrate is a pre-formed polymide based thermal system coated with a proprietary thermal compound necessary to maximize heat transfer while still offering high dielectric strength and high cut-through resistance. The low-installed cost of Loctite Econostrate makes it an excellent replacement for applications where inefficient and messy greases, silicone rubbers, or mica’s are used.

Loctite Econostrate’s wetting action at phase-change temperature elliminates voids due to mounting surface irregularities. Volumtric expansion at phase-change enhances wetting action to further assist in the elimination of voids and gaps. The extended wetting action of the proprietary thermal compound allows for superior long-term thermal cyclying capability.

Typical Applications

Loctite Econostrate is used between any non-isolated heat dissipating component and a heat sink, or chassis, in applications where the thermal interface material must also act as an electrical insulator.

Loctite Econostrate is available in clean sizable die cut packs, continuous roll formats for high volume dispensing, and sheets or log rolls. As found in all Henkel’s phase-change thermal interface products, Loctite Econostrate is built pre-formed to your application requirements
